While in Whitehorse, I had the
opportunity to hook up with the folks from KiteYukon.com to try
my hand at kite skiing. The basic idea is to let the wind in
the canopy carry you along as you direct yourself with the skiis.
It is a lot tougher than it sounds and Jim (shown) made it look
easy. I did alright but spent a lot of my time fighting with
the kite and trying not to break an arm.
Seriously, it was a lot of fun,
even though the temperature outside was around -25C. |
