Extreme Snow Event

Aylmer, Quebec - March 08, 2008

One of the most potent winter storms in memory dumped 30 cm of snow in the Toronto area but in Aylmer, Quebec, 50cm of the white stuff came down. To make matters worse, the snow was accompanied by strong winds which made for a lot of blowing, drifting snow.

This was the scene at my sister's house after the storm had finally passed.

The view out the front window.

Imagine opening your front door to see this?

The blowing snow caused major snow drifts.

They are running out of places to put all of it.
