CANWARN/Severe Weather Watcher Training 2006

Environment Canada

You ARE The Eyes and Ears of Environment Canada

Environment Canada is ramping up for another year of CANWARN and Severe Weather Watcher training. Experts from Environment Canada will train volunteers how to spot and report severe weather by learning about structures of storms, types of clouds to watch for and how weather watches and warnings are disseminated to the public.

Volunteers will also learn how to protect themselves by following safety measures during a severe summer weather situation. Being prepared and reacting appropriately during a severe weather event is key in our training session.

Spring 2006 Training sessions:
We anticipate a large turnout at these sessions and would appreciate your pre-registering by e-mail at canwarn@ec.gc.ca in order to ensure we have sufficient seating.
