Riding In A Tank & An Armoured Personnel Carrier

Oshawa, Ontario - Feb 24 2021

The day was spent filming with the great people at the Ontario Regiment RCAC Museum in Oshawa, Ontario. There they have a collection of about 140 tanks from around the world... And most of them are in working condition! I was helping The Weather Network on a shoot about winter driving, and what better vehicle to showcase winter traction than a Centurion tank and a T-Lav armoured personnel carrier?

The museum volunteers have a playground/track out back where they let us ride along as they put these huge tracked vehicles through their paces. It was tremendous fun, but I quickly learned that I would not want to be stationed in a tank during a war. These beasts are loud, cramped, and difficult to operate. I highly recommend checking out the museum if you get the chance. Many thanks to the museum staff, volunteers, the folks at Gunslingers for arranging the day, and to Michael Wong for some of these photos from the day.
