"Superstorm" Hurricane Sandy

Long Island, NY - Oct. 29 2012

Hurricane Sandy YouTube

  • Hurricane Sandy Roared ashore across the mid-Atlantic states, officially making landfall in New Jersey, however the storm was so big that its effects were felt for hundreds of miles. One are hard hit was Long Island, especially in the Rockaway Beach area of south Queens. I traveled there with fellow storm chasers Mark Robinson and Tim Millar. Once we arrived, we teamed up with Scott McPartland, who just happens to live in Queens. His house was our base of operations during the storm.

We've now re-located to the south shore at Rockaway Beach, and the ocean is looking angry.
